MEMBERSHIP AND CUSTOMER SERVICE MANAGER

Moonee Valley Racing Club is one of Australia’s most progressive and innovative Racing Clubs and multi-purpose entertainment venues - home of the prestigious Cox Plate. MVRC is offering a fantastic opportunity to lead its Membership and Customer Service team in the role of Membership and Customer Service Manager.

To ensure your success, you will have a proven ability to achieve membership sales and the ability to identify revenue opportunities through membership and customer services.  You will have well developed interpersonal skills and the ability to demonstrate your team management credentials.  Reporting on various aspects of the team operations such as ticket sales and other relevant matters will also be required. You are also able to get “hands-on” when necessary and have the ability to manage budget setting and reporting capabilities.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, broadly, the role involves:

  • Leading and managing the customer service team with a motivated, positive approach
  • Assisting with mailouts, campaigns and promotions designed to maximise revenue through educating members
  • Providing support to Operations, Sales, Catering and Marketing departments
  • Strong supervisory, delegation and analytical skills
  • High attention to detail
  • The ability to self-manage, motivated by completing tasks accurately and on time
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to effectively network and liaise within and external to the organisation
  • A very clear understanding of the concepts of customer service delivery
  • The ability to influence and problem solve in complex situations

Strong organisational skills and a proactive and innovative approach to tasks are essential in being successful within this position. TAB ATTENDANT

Moonee Valley Racing Club (MVRC) is one of Australia’s most progressive and innovative Racing Clubs and multi-purpose entertainment venues - home of the prestigious Cox Plate. A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join “Legends” licensed and entertainment venue as a TAB Attendant. The “Legends” venue is situated at a vantage point overlooking the racetrack, with excellent views of the City skyline and provides dining and entertainment options to raceday and non-raceday patrons.

With this role comes a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic and motivated team that seeks to provide excellent customer service.  The position reports to the Wagering Manager-Legends and is responsible for attending to the operational requirements of the TAB area. The incumbent will also be required to undertake a variety of duties, including bar service.

The successful applicant will be able to display a strong customer service focus in addition to exceptional communication skills.  You will have a thorough understanding and demonstrated experience in cash handling and balancing of tills, opening and closing procedures and be able to work unsupervised.

  • The successful candidate must also have:
  • Strong background in operating TAB terminals
  • Ability to work autonomously and under pressure
  • Must have previous experience in handling large amounts of cash
  • Impeccable customer service standards
  • Hospitality skills – bar service
  • Experience in TAB Procedures and Regulations and late cancellation of Bets are essential 
  • Awareness and adherence to industry OH&S Policies and Procedures

This is a full time permanent position, you will also be required to work weekends and shift work on a rotating basis.

The successful candidate will be required to obtain a National Police Clearance before commencement and also hold a current Victorian Gaming license, RSG certificate, RSA certificate.

CUSTOMER SERVICE OFFICER

Moonee Valley Racing Club is one of Australia’s most progressive and innovative Racing Clubs and multi-purpose entertainment venues - home of the prestigious Cox Plate. MVRC is offering a fantastic opportunity to join its Membership and Customer Service team in the role of Customer Service Officer.  This full time role will be involved in all aspects of customer and membership services.
 
Reporting to the Membership and Customer Service Manager, the successful applicant will have excellent communication skills combined with a friendly and professional telephone manner; a willingness and ability to work in a high paced team environment without direct supervision and an excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.  Experience working with databases and within a call centre environment is also desirable.

This role is significant in delivering excellent customer service to members of the Club. Other duties include but are not limited to:

  • Outbound calls to existing customers
  • Updating customer details
  • Ensure correct ticketing for all bookings is sent ensuring the MVRC terms and conditions are sent along with other relevant data
  • Ensure that all Cox Plate packages are aligned to customer needs and seating is being correctly allocated and sold
  • Timely and accurate internal communication to Catering, Operations, Finance and Racing departments of details relating to race day restaurants and special requests by customers
  • General ad hoc duties.

Your proactive approach to tasks, with an ability to undertake a variety of administration work, will put you in good stead for this position. You will be self motivated and be able to take on responsibility, but also be able to work well within a team environment.

The successful applicant must be flexible to hours of work, as they will be required to work at a majority of night and weekend race meetings, which prominently run from September to March each year. Knowledge of the horse racing industry is preferred for this role, but not essential.
