ESSENDON MAZDA 55 SECOND CHALLENGEBookmark and Share

The Essendon Mazda 55 Second Challenge is a pure test of speed over 955 metres.

The barriers are positioned in the 1000 metre chute and the challenge will be to see which horse can break the 55 second mark across the City Jeep Night Racing Season.

On each of the 17 night meetings in season 2013/14, Moonee Valley will stage an Essendon Mazda 55 Second Challenge heat, with each heat carrying prizemoney of $55,000. The Essendon Mazda 55 Second Challenge heat will be programmed as Race 5 at each of the night meetings.

Last season trainer Bryon Cozamanis with Vatican had the winning time of 54.69 seconds. The big question is will the 55 second mark be broken again this year? The only way to find out is to be on track at Moonee Valley.

The trainer of the horse that runs the quickest time across the 17 race series will win a Mazda BT-50 from Essendon Mazda.
